Every brand has one product that quietly becomes the thing people know them for, and for us, that product is Everything Bagel Seasoning. What started as a simple attempt to bottle the flavor of a classic New York bagel shop topping has grown into our single best-selling blend, showing up in kitchens far beyond where anyone expected it to land.
How a Bagel Shop Classic Became a Pantry Staple
The idea was never complicated. Toasted sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, and flaky sea salt, blended in a ratio that took longer to get right than you’d expect. Too much garlic and it overwhelms everything else. Too little salt and the seeds taste flat. It took several rounds of tweaking before the balance felt right, but once it did, the response from early customers made it clear we had something special on our hands.
What we didn’t anticipate was how quickly people would move it off the bagel entirely. Home cooks started sprinkling it over avocado toast, folding it into scrambled eggs, using it to crust salmon before roasting, and even mixing it into softened butter for garlic bread. It turns out a well-balanced everything blend works anywhere you’d want texture, crunch, and a savory-salty finish, which is a big part of why it became a bestseller rather than a novelty.
Craving something bright and zesty on your next batch of bagels? A good lemon pepper seasoning works wonders on chicken, fish, and roasted vegetables alike.
We’ve kept the recipe small-batch since day one, with no anti-caking agents or artificial fillers added to stretch the yield. That decision costs more to produce, but it’s also why the flavor stays consistent jar after jar, and why so many customers tell us they’ve stopped buying the grocery store version entirely once they’ve tried ours.
Ready to Taste Why It’s Our Bestseller?
Whether you’re topping your morning bagel or reaching for something new to finish a weeknight dinner, it’s easy to see why this blend became a customer favorite. Give it a try, and you may find it earns a permanent spot next to the salt and pepper on your counter.
